1- Student Code of Conduct.
Leaders believes that all students can learn when provided with appropriate instruction and an environment that is safe and orderly. To create such an educational setting requires a comprehensive program of instruction, consistently enforced standards of discipline and the cooperative efforts of students, parents/ guardians, school staff and the community.
At Leaders the student code of conduct is based on the following beliefs:
1.Discipline is a natural element of educational and personal development.
2.Discipline should be viewed as a means of encouraging good behavior and not merely a reaction to inappropriate behavior.
3.Discipline should involve the consideration of individual circumstances as well as the rights and welfare of the entire school population.
4.The "Code of Conduct" should lead to a clear understanding of behavioral expectations and consequences for unacceptable behavior.
5.The school strives to achieve a balance between the rights of students and the need for order and safety.
-We will focus on the positive enforcement of mature, respectful and honorable behavior not the negative consequences of bad behavior.
-Please note that we believe:
1.Every student at Leaders has the right to a quality education.
2.Each teacher has the responsibility to teach and each student has the right and the responsibility to learn.
3.No student has the right to interfere with this process.
4.Each teacher has classroom rules to ensure the best possible educational environments.
5.Respect common sense, reasonableness are the foundation of the relationship between student and teacher.
2- Recognizing exceptional Behavior.
All staff will make every effort to give positive reinforcement throughout the day to all students. Behavior that is above and beyond normal expectations will be rewarded.
This serves the purpose of reinforcing positive behavior and actions students may exhibit during the school day. The manner in which these students will be recognized will be determined by the teachers and administration.
